Background

This is a regional selection from the area of Limou in the south west of Ethiopia. Most farmers have very small plots and as such have been helped to form cooperatives, from the government, so they can create large enough lots for export. They are considered to own their own coffee, where as commodity coffees are bought and sold. Cooperatives are also not required to go through the Ethiopian Coffee Exchange, instead using cooperative unions to find international buyers for their coffee.
